Morocco Streamlines Construction Permits to Boost Post-Pandemic Economy

The Ministry of Spatial Planning has just generalized the pre-instruction procedure and the re-examination of pending authorization application files.
Circular letter No. 209 on the re-examination of pending files that have been the subject of requests for urban planning authorizations was sent on May 12 to the urban agencies under the ministry. This action by the department of Nouzha Bouchareb aims to reduce the adverse effects of the coronavirus on the national economy, on the one hand, and to establish a stable and attractive business climate, favorable to the restart of investment, on the other hand.
Similarly, the minister has requested the expertise of the urban agencies for the generalization of the pre-instruction service for projects, ensuring the involvement of professionals in the processing of submitted projects and encouraging electronic exchanges, as well as the implementation of relevant indicators and a computer database for monitoring urban planning authorization application files.
The urban agencies are also called upon to establish an inventory of pending projects, particularly those subject to the large projects procedure, which will be re-examined before the end of July 2020, in the presence of the professionals concerned and in a framework of coordination and cooperation with all stakeholders in this field, ensuring that they are limited to major observations and comments.
