Ex-Morocco Star Benatia Endorses Amrabat for Juventus Midfield Move
Former Moroccan international Medhi Benatia, who was also captain of the Atlas Lions, believes that his compatriot, Fiorentina player Sofyan Amrabat, would be a choice reinforcement for Juventus, who want to strengthen their midfield.
"Does he have the stature of a Juve player? He has shown his worth at the World Cup and with Fiorentina. He is a player who gives you strength and quality in midfield. Yes, he could become a Juve player," Medhi Benatia told calciomercato.it.
Sofyan is one of the architects of Morocco’s exceptional and historic run at the 2022 Qatar World Cup. After the competition, several clubs wanted to secure the services of the Moroccan international. Among them is FC Barcelona, which narrowly missed his signing at the end of the winter transfer window. The Catalan club had offered Fiorentina a paying loan of 3 million euros with a fixed purchase option of 37 million. An offer that will be rejected by the Viola leaders.
Sofyan’s market value is estimated at 25 million euros. His contract with the Italian club runs until June 2024.
