Barcelona Eyes Amrabat as Busquets Replacement, Fiorentina Braces for Potential $40M Transfer
Fiorentina is concerned about a possible departure of Sofyan Amrabat. The 26-year-old Moroccan midfielder is indeed on the list of potential reinforcements for FC Barcelona following the announced departure of captain Sergio Busquets. This situation puts Fiorentina in a delicate position, deprived of one of its pillars.
According to the Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport, FC Barcelona would be ready to present an offer of 40 million euros to convince Amrabat to join its ranks, thus approaching the 50 million euros estimate demanded by Fiorentina. The Italian club, which had previously indicated that it was willing to listen to offers for the player, is now beginning to fear the worst.
During the last winter transfer window, FC Barcelona had already tried to obtain Amrabat’s arrival by proposing a loan with a purchase option of 4 million euros, accompanied by an additional sum of 36 million euros, but no agreement could be reached with Fiorentina. As the next transfer market approaches, Amrabat’s future is now increasingly written within the Catalan club, unless Fiorentina thwarts the transfer.
