Morocco: Son Sentenced to Life for Father’s Murder in Foreign Exchange Broker Case

Justice has just handed down its verdict in the case of the body that was found in September 2021 in Cabo Negro, in the Tetouan region.
A foreign exchange broker had been found buried in his garden, recalls the newspaper Al Ahdath Al Maghribia, which specifies that three individuals had been arrested. They have just been sentenced to life imprisonment by the Tetouan Court of Appeal.
One of the individuals convicted in this case is none other than the victim’s son who planned the murder with two accomplices. As soon as the victim disappeared, significant resources had been deployed to try to find him, but suspicions quickly turned to the son because of a large sum of money that had disappeared from the foreign exchange broker’s safe. The theft revealed no offense or trace, which prompted the police to focus on the victim’s relatives.
Under surveillance, the son was finally arrested, as well as the gardener and another person. These three individuals were prosecuted for forming a criminal gang and premeditated murder.
They have just been sentenced to life imprisonment.
