Morocco Slips to 55th in Global Military Power Rankings

Morocco is ranked 55th in the 2022 ranking of major military powers, down two places from last year.
According to the specialized website Global Firepower, which identifies among 140 countries in the world those with the most advanced means to determine the most efficient military powers each year, the kingdom has regressed two ranks after a 53rd place in 2021.
According to the figures, the Royal Armed Forces have 325,000 soldiers, including 200,000 active in military service, 100,000 reserve soldiers and 25,000 in paramilitary forces.
The Moroccan Air Force has 249 military aircraft, including 83 fighter jets, 64 helicopters, 29 transport aircraft. The Royal Navy has 121 military ships including 4 corvettes and 6 frigates. On the ground, Morocco has a total of 3,335 tanks and 3,500 armored vehicles, as well as other types of equipment.
Globally, the United States tops the list, followed by Russia and China. India is ranked 4th, Japan 5th, South Korea 6th and France 7th. The 13 countries ranked at the top have all increased their military capabilities between 2021 and 2022, according to Global Firepower.
