Morocco Ranks 61st in Global Military Power Index, Report Shows

Morocco is featured in the latest global ranking of military powers, compiled by Global Firepower.
With a score of 1.0524, Morocco is ranked 61st out of 145 global military powers due to its constant efforts to modernize its army, its international alliances, its strategic geographic position in relation to Europe, and its key role in peace and stability in North Africa and the Sahel, reports Huffpost Espagne.
The ranking was based on a comprehensive analysis method that takes into account more than 60 individual criteria related to the number of military units, financial situation, logistical and geographic capabilities, etc.
"Our unique internal formula allows smaller and more technologically advanced nations to compete with larger and less developed powers, and special modifiers in the form of bonuses and penalties are applied to further refine the list compiled each year," explains Global FirePower in a note.
Each of the 145 global powers can obtain a maximum score of 0.0000, which is "realistically unattainable," according to the Institute, which specifies that the lower the score obtained by a country, the more it is considered "powerful" militarily.
