Morocco Shuts Down Unauthorized Job Recruitment Office for Israeli Employment

The mediation office intended to find employment opportunities for young Moroccans in Israel is no longer operational. A few days after its opening, it was closed by the local authorities.
Barely opened, the office experienced a large influx. Young people came from all regions of Morocco in the hope of being hired. But contrary to all expectations, the local authorities, supported by elements of the national security in Casablanca, began the process of closing the office on Wednesday.
In a statement, the Israeli liaison office in Rabat denied any "connection with the so-called mediation office that offers employment opportunities in Israel, or with any office that claims to issue work visas for Israel."
It also specified that at the moment, "the work visas issued to Moroccans to go to Israel are specially organized by Israeli companies that carry out all the procedures with the Israeli Ministry of the Interior."
