Morocco Set to Launch First Therapeutic Cannabis Production Within Months

Morocco will soon have its first production of therapeutic cannabis. This is at least what Professor Redouane Rabii, president of the Moroccan Consultative Association for the Use of Cannabis (AMCUC), has affirmed.

"In three months, we will have the first production of therapeutic cannabis in Morocco, and for that, we need to prepare the ground with training for health actors (doctors, nurses and pharmacists)," Professor Redouane Rabii said on SNRT during the launch of the 3rd phase of the "Kif Takwine" training program on the medicinal and therapeutic uses of cannabis for doctors, pharmacists and nurses, on Saturday at the Pharmaacademy headquarters in Bouskoura.

During this third phase of the training program, it is a question of taking advantage of successful global experiences in the medical use of cannabis in the healthcare system and making them available to patients through medical prescriptions issued by doctors or pharmacists, specifying the ways to monitor patients, in order to strengthen the capacities of health professionals.

In total, 20 doctors and pharmacists are participating in this training. They will receive several courses given by international experts and doctors from the United States and Israel. These two countries, it should be recalled, have great expertise in strengthening the medical industry on cannabis.

"Cannabis is not a plant that we know, we need to know its side effects, its constituents, its dosages and especially the indications currently validated by science," said the president of AMCUC.
