Morocco Set for Final CAN 2025 Qualifiers Against Gabon and Lesotho

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has communicated the dates of the Atlas Lions’ matches against Gabon and Lesotho, counting for the fifth and sixth rounds of the qualifiers for the Africa Cup of Nations, which will be held from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026 in Morocco. Walid Regragui, the national coach, should unveil the final list of players he will call up on November 7.
Solid leader of group B (12 points), Morocco will face Gabon on November 15 at the Stade de Franceville, as part of the fifth round of the CAN 2025 qualifiers. Three days later, they will cross swords with Lesotho at the Stade d’Honneur in the city of Oujda for their last qualifying match. The Refereeing Commission of the Confederation of African Football has appointed a South African refereeing team to officiate the first match. The second match will be officiated by a refereeing team from the Democratic Republic of Congo.
The national coach, Walid Regragui, should unveil the final list of the Moroccan team that will face Gabon and Lesotho on November 7. A few changes will be made. He could call up four players who were absent during the confrontations with the Central African Republic during the last international break. According to several sources, Regragui would fly to Turkey this week to meet with the Galatasaray officials, in order to resolve the crisis between the two parties and inform Hakim Ziyech of his call-up for the November training camp.
Brahim Diaz could also appear on the next list. Recovered from his injury, he participated in part of the "clasico" against FC Barcelona, which ended in a victory for the Barcelonians (4-0). The Moroccan right-back of Manchester United, Noussair Mazraoui, could also make his comeback, but the latter was injured during the last match of his club. The return of the captain of the defense, Romain Saïss, and Amir Richardsson, who is gradually regaining his place and his usual level with his club, Fiorentina, remains uncertain. Injured during the match between Bayer Leverkusen and Brest in the Champions League last week, Amine Adli, will be absent during the national team’s matches against Gabon and Lesotho. He should undergo surgery.
