Morocco Set to Extend State of Health Emergency Amid Ongoing COVID-19 Cases

On the agenda of the next Council of Government to be held on Thursday under the chairmanship of the Head of Government, Aziz Akhannouch, several topics will be discussed, including the examination of the draft decree relating to the extension of the duration of the state of health emergency.
The state of health emergency should be extended again by the government. Morocco is still experiencing cases of contamination and sometimes deaths, even if we are very far from the figures of a few weeks ago.
During the session, the Council will examine the draft law amending the law forming the Commercial Code and setting transitional provisions relating to payment terms, according to a press release from the Prime Minister’s department.
The agenda will also include the examination of the Constitution of the African Civil Aviation Commission adopted in Dakar on December 16, 2009, as well as a draft law approving this text. The last item on the agenda of the Council of Government is the examination of proposals for appointments to senior positions, in accordance with the provisions of Article 92 of the Constitution.
