Morocco Extends COVID-19 State of Emergency Through January 2023

Meeting in its weekly session on Thursday, December 29, 2022, the government decided to extend the state of health emergency until January 31, 2023.
According to Mustapha Baitas, the government spokesperson, the draft decree No. 2.22.720 adopted by the government after presentation by the Minister of the Interior, "aims to extend the duration of the state of health emergency throughout the national territory".
This extension runs from Saturday, December 31, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. until Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. in order to continue to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the measures taken by the public authorities to fight against the spread of Covid-19.
