Morocco Extends Nationwide State of Health Emergency Amid Ongoing Pandemic Concerns

Meeting on Thursday during its weekly session, the Council of Government adopted the draft decree extending, once again, the state of health emergency.
At the press conference held after the session, the Minister Delegate in charge of relations with Parliament, government spokesman, Mustapha Baitas, indicated that the Council adopted draft decree No. 2.23.26 extending the duration of the state of health emergency throughout the national territory, after a presentation by the Minister of the Interior, Abdelouafi Laftit.
According to the draft, the state of health emergency is extended throughout the national territory, from Tuesday, January 31, 2023 at 6 p.m. to Tuesday, February 28, 2023 at 6 p.m., in order to ensure the effectiveness and efficiency of the measures taken by the public authorities to fight the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, the minister specified.
