Morocco Set to Drop in FIFA Rankings Despite Recent Wins

Morocco should lose a place in the FIFA ranking that will be published on November 28. According to projections from the "Football Ranking" website, the Atlas Lions would find themselves in 14th place in the world ranking, while still retaining their leadership in Africa and the Arab world.
This drop is due to the rise of Uruguay, which has achieved good performances during the qualifications for the 2026 World Cup. The Uruguayans have indeed beaten Colombia (3-2) and snatched a draw against Brazil (1-1), teams very well ranked globally.
Despite two wins this month, against Gabon (5-1) and Lesotho (7-0) during the qualifiers for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, Morocco sees its total points stand at 1,688.17, a gain of 6.60 points, insufficient to maintain its position.
Elsewhere in Africa, Tunisia plummets six places (53rd), Egypt gains three places (33rd), Nigeria falls ten places, Côte d’Ivoire loses five places, South Africa climbs three places and Senegal two.
At the top of the ranking, Argentina remains firmly anchored in first place despite a loss of points. Portugal and the Netherlands each gain a place, rising to 6th and 7th respectively. Belgium falls two places, while Germany gains one.
