Morocco Set to Approve AstraZeneca and Sinopharm COVID-19 Vaccines

Morocco is about to authorize the AstraZeneca and Sinopharm vaccines. The drug registration commission met on Thursday to launch the authorization procedure.
According to Medias24 citing an authorized source, the kingdom preferred to wait for authorization in the countries of origin before launching this procedure. After obtaining confirmation from the United Kingdom and China, the marketing authorization (MA) commission will grant this authorization within a week, the same source said.
In total, 65 million doses of vaccine have been ordered, including 25 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine and 40 million doses of the Sinopharm vaccine. After going through all the other steps, the health authorities remain in contact with the suppliers to obtain a delivery schedule for the vaccines.
