Morocco Sends 40 Tons of Emergency Aid to Palestinians in Gaza and West Bank

King Mohammed VI, President of the Al-Quds Committee, has ordered the dispatch of emergency humanitarian aid to the Palestinian population in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
This aid, which will be urgently transported by Royal Armed Forces aircraft, consists of 40 tons of essential food products, emergency medical supplies and blankets.
King Mohammed VI’s decision is part, it is said, of the Kingdom’s continued support for the just Palestinian cause, and its permanent solidarity with the brotherly Palestinian people, the Moroccan Foreign Affairs press release states.
Since the start of the violence in the occupied Palestinian territories, the Kingdom of Morocco, whose sovereign chairs the Al-Quds Committee, has firmly condemned and clearly expressed its support for the Palestinian cause, it is stated.
Rabat, the same source recalls, had pointed out that the continuation of the violence further weakens the peace efforts in the region, calling for prioritizing dialogue.
Morocco, which makes the Palestinian cause a priority, has on many occasions reaffirmed "its commitment to the realization of the two-state solution, living side by side in peace and security". This solution involves the creation of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state, within the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital, supports Moroccan diplomacy.
