Morocco Seeks Investment Ideas from Expatriates in New Economic Initiative

Morocco attaches great importance to Moroccans living abroad in the development of a new investment charter. In this sense, a meeting was organized on Tuesday in Rabat, in order to collect their proposals.
This is the first meeting of the Thematic Committee for the Promotion of Investment by Moroccans Living Abroad. Chaired by Mohcine Jazouli, Minister Delegate in charge of Investment, Convergence and Evaluation of Public Policies, it was attended by representatives of the CGEM and the GPBM.
This occasion made it possible to recall the importance of Moroccans living abroad in the economic development of the kingdom, and to mobilize all the public and private stakeholders by collecting their proposals with a view to developing a roadmap that will serve to significantly strengthen the investment of Moroccans living abroad in the country. The conclusions from these proceedings will be submitted to the Ministerial Commission, which will rule at the beginning of 2023.
According to official figures, the community of Moroccans living abroad is estimated at nearly 5.8 million individuals. In addition to being a very important community, it continues to grow as its number has tripled in 20 years.
