Morocco Aims to Boost Europe’s Green Energy Transition with Renewable Power

Mohcine Jazouli, Minister Delegate in charge of Investment, Convergence and Evaluation of Public Policies, affirms that Morocco is capable of decarbonizing the European economy.
Morocco’s ability to produce renewable solar and wind energy "will allow the decarbonization of the European economy," said Mohcine Jazouli in an interview with Euronews on the sidelines of the 2023 annual meeting of the World Economic Forum (WEF) held in Switzerland. In this regard, he will recall that the kingdom’s energy mix includes more than 40% renewable energy and that the country aims to exceed 50% in the next six years. "This awareness today also corresponds to the European objectives of decarbonizing its economy," stressed the minister, convinced that Morocco "is the best solution".
The 2023 annual meeting of the WEF was held from January 16 to 20 in Davos, Switzerland. It was attended by hundreds of world leaders, officials and industry experts. On the agenda: discussions on the most urgent economic, geopolitical and environmental issues in the world.
