Morocco Seeks Fresh Talent to Revitalize National Soccer Team After AFCON Exit

Morocco is looking for new talents to strengthen its national football team, after the early elimination in the round of 16 of the Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d’Ivoire.
The Royal Moroccan Football Federation has mandated Walid Regragui to uncover new talents in order to inject new dynamism into the national team. It is in this context that the national coach is conducting a European tour during which he should exchange with both new talents and confirmed Atlas Lions. The Moroccan coach should focus his search on the key positions where the Moroccan team lacks talents capable of making the difference.
During his journey, Regragui should meet Brahim Diaz, the Real Madrid midfielder. The Moroccan Federation has engaged in discussions with the Spanish player of Moroccan origin in recent years to convince him to join the den of the Atlas Lions. But Diaz hesitates to take the decisive step, hoping for a call-up from La Roja that is slow to come. According to Spanish media, the Spanish coach, Luis De La Fuente, is considering calling him up for the friendly matches scheduled in March against Colombia and Brazil.
Brahim Diaz was recently spotted in Marrakech where he was on vacation, which fueled rumors about his decision to play for Morocco. Walid Regragui should convince him to choose Morocco rather than Spain. The Moroccan coach, who has been reappointed to his position despite the elimination from the Africa Cup of Nations, wants to bring fresh blood to the national team, in the perspective of the 2025 CAN organized by Morocco, the 2030 World Cup co-organized by Morocco, Spain and Portugal, and the 2026 World Cup.
