Morocco Secures 1-0 Victory Over Côte d’Ivoire in African Cup of Nations Clash

It is a determined Hervé Renard who answered journalists yesterday, Friday, June 28, 2019, following Morocco’s 1-0 victory over Côte d’Ivoire, a team he knows well and even led to the trophy.
Reacting on the BeIn channel, the coach declares: "I am lucky to have a group that was facing a revengeful team and was able to rise to the occasion, once again. Now, it’s good, we’re happy. But we’ll have to finish the job on Monday against South Africa, because we have to finish first in the Group. It’s essential, we can’t let up. It wasn’t always great football but it’s a team with so many qualities that we had to manage all the situations and we were able to do it well".
He wanted to thank the supporters for their presence in the stands, which reminds him of Russia: "It had a little air of Russia. We thank them for that." He then addressed the team’s detractors: "[Those who] keep hitting us, you give us a lot of courage and motivation".
After this victory, Morocco takes the lead in Group D and now aims for a third victory against the South African team.
