Morocco Rescues 21 Migrants at Sea, Recovers Two Bodies Including Pregnant Woman

21 candidates for illegal immigration, including four women, were rescued on Friday, April 3, 2020, about 27 nautical miles from the port of Tan-Tan.
According to local authorities, these are sub-Saharan immigrants who were on board an inflatable boat. Two deaths were also recorded on the same boat. One of the two deceased women was pregnant.
Upon arrival at the port of Tan-Tan, the 21 survivors underwent medical tests to ensure they do not show any symptoms of the coronavirus.
In 2019, 27,317 illegal immigrants were apprehended by the Moroccan police, who also arrested 505 smugglers and dismantled 62 human trafficking networks.
