Tragic Mediterranean Crossing: 7 Migrants Dead, 70 Rescued off Moroccan Coast

The bodies of seven sub-Saharans were recovered Monday morning off Nador by the Royal Moroccan Navy. 70 migrants, luckier, were rescued while in distress on board a makeshift boat.
Each day brings its share of misfortune in terms of irregular migration. But this does not discourage the candidates who, each time, defy death to cross the Mediterranean. Others succeed while some fail. This is the case of these 77 sub-Saharan Africans who tried the adventure on board a makeshift boat. Had it not been for the vigilance of the coast guard of the Royal Navy, there would have been only seven bodies, reports the MAP.
Among the 70 rescued, there are 10 women and a baby who were in critical condition. They received the necessary first aid on board the Royal Navy coast guard ship, before being safely brought back to the port of Nador, the same source said.
