The Royal Moroccan Navy coast guards provided assistance to eight Moroccan stowaways in the Mediterranean in the early hours of January 28.
According to a military source quoted by the MAP, these 8 Moroccan nationals, as well as other stowaways, were in distress on board makeshift boats.
Once rescued, they received appropriate care before being safely returned to the Mediterranean ports of the Kingdom for the usual procedures, the same source said.
Every week, many candidates for illegal immigration are rescued by the Royal Navy. Others, unfortunately, perish before the arrival of rescue services.
