Morocco Reports Stable Prices for Essential Goods Amid Coronavirus Concerns

The data presented by the services of all the ministerial departments concerned with supply, prices and control indicate a stability of prices for most of the most consumed products in all regions of Morocco. This is what the inter-ministerial commission in charge of monitoring supply, prices and price and quality control has noted.
The Commission also focused, during a meeting held under the chairmanship of the Ministry of Economy, Finance and Public Administration Reform (Department of General Affairs and Governance), on reviewing the situation of the supply and prices of basic products on the national markets, on the relative drop in prices of certain products that had seen increases in the previous week.
Regarding the supply of the market, the Commission recalled that due to the intensive measures recommended by all the sectors concerned in partnership with the professionals, the supply situation is normal and the markets are regularly supplied with all basic products in abundant quantities, even exceeding demand in most cases.
As for the products that have experienced a significant increase in demand and cyclical pressure in certain regions on the distribution chain in recent days, such as butane gas bottles, the Commission explains that the measures and procedures adopted by all stakeholders have made it possible to cope with this pressure.
These actions have led to a gradual return to normal. As a result, the available stock of butane gas nationwide is sufficient to meet demand.
