Morocco Reports Stable Prices and Sufficient Supply for Aid Al Adha Despite Drought

For Aid Al Adha, Morocco has a sufficient supply and prices are stable, according to the Ministry of Agriculture. The market for agricultural and food products remains well supplied, despite the unfavorable climatic conditions during the last campaign.

In a forecast assessment of supply and demand on the occasion of Aid Al Adha, the ministry reported the availability of agricultural and food products capable of covering the Moroccan market, in a context marked by drought and rising prices internationally.

Thus, "as this holiday approaches, which this year coincides with the summer season when demand for food products usually sees a slight increase compared to normal, the food product market remains well supplied and the prices of the main vegetables and fruits show a downward or stable trend," says a statement from the department, specifying that this trend is attributable to the combined efforts of the State, farmers and industry professionals.

The ministry cited the prices of soft wheat flours which have not undergone any change, despite the dizzying increases on the world market. The price of sugar also remains fixed and unchanged thanks to the support of the State, the ministry noted, noting that for table oils, prices remain at the levels recorded since 2021.

Regarding the main vegetable products most consumed, such as tomatoes, potatoes, onions, etc., the department indicated that they show a very satisfactory and sufficient level of availability both in quantity and quality, thanks in particular to the entry into production of seasonal market gardening.
