Morocco Reassures Stable Sheep Prices Ahead of Eid Al Adha Celebration

As the Eid Al Adha approaches, the Ministry of Agriculture has sought to reassure Moroccans about the availability of supply, but especially about the prices of sheep on the domestic market.
The live animal market has recovered compared to the pre-February situation where prices were particularly low, the ministry said in a statement.
Thus, for sheep and goats, particularly sheep, prices in the souks and livestock markets are at the same levels as the previous campaign at this same period, it is specified.
As for fattening cattle, meat prices remain at the usual average levels, i.e. 62 to 65 DH/Kg ex-slaughterhouse. Eggs, on the other hand, have seen a 5 to 7% drop compared to 2020/2021, while broiler chicken prices remain at 16 DH/Kg at the wholesale stage, the note concludes.
