Morocco Reports 42 New COVID-19 Cases, 217 Recoveries as Total Infections Reach 7,643

The Ministry of Health announced on Thursday, during its traditional press briefing, the identification of 42 new cases, or 7 more infections than in the morning. Morocco has a total of 7,643 people infected with the new coronavirus.
The number of recoveries is on the rise again, with the recording of 217 new recoveries, for a total of 5,195 people.
The kingdom has not recorded any deaths in the last 3 days. 202 deaths have been recorded to date since the registration of the first case of covid-19. The fatality rate, on the other hand, rises to 2.64% against 67.97% of the recovery rate.
In addition, 172,546 cases have been excluded after negative laboratory tests (an increase of 9,434), while 2,246 cases are still under treatment.
Regarding the map of the distribution of the 42 new infections, six regions were affected, mainly Tanger-Tétouan-Al Hoceima, which recorded 22 new cases. It is followed by Casablanca-Settat (+14), Fès-Meknès (+3), which becomes the 4th region to have crossed the 1,000 case mark, Rabat-Salé-Kénitra (+2), Marrakech-Safi (+1). As for the seven other regions, they did not record any cases in the last 24 hours.
