Some 700 people, mostly workers, have been affected by the virus. To try to limit the spread, the authorities have built a field hospital on site and greatly reduced the movement of the population.

In addition, a hotspot has also been discovered in Tarfaya, in the south of the country, affecting sub-Saharan migrants.
