Morocco Reopens to International Travelers, French Tourists Lead Surge in Bookings

Closed since November 29 last year due to the spread of the Omicron variant, Moroccan airspace reopens this Monday, February 7, 2022. This reopening triggers a strong influx in the short term, to the point that Morocco is regaining the 10 best-selling countries.
Many French people are eager to reach Morocco. "Our country remains the first destination sold, with 27% of bookings. But beware, it’s dropping sharply. We’re rather at 40% usually. Then it’s Europe that dominates the best places with Spain (2nd place), Italy (3rd) and Portugal (4th), the United States (5th, with 6% of the volume). Morocco is once again among the 10 most sold countries, and is rapidly approaching the top 5," says TourMag.
"We are observing a significant increase in order taking since the beginning of the week. In this context of recovery, the most sought-after destinations are Mexico, the USA and Morocco," says Fabrice Dariot, founder and president of Bourse des Vols. According to Nicolas Henin, the gradual reduction in uncertainty, combined with a strong desire to travel, should continue to boost demand for the coming summer.
