Morocco’s Rental Market Surges: Apartment Prices Rise in Major Cities

The rental market has picked up again in the third quarter of this year, especially in Bouskoura, Rabat or Casablanca where rents remain the highest in Morocco.
Mubawab took the pulse of the rental real estate market at the end of September. It emerges that the rental price index for furnished apartments has increased by 2 points, while that of apartments has gained 4 points compared to the trend observed a year ago, reports Les Inspirations Eco.
According to the data from the real estate specialist, the rental price of an unfurnished apartment is on average 7,500 DH per month, up 3%, while the rates climb to 23,800 DH per month for an unfurnished villa, up 5%.
The demand ratio nationwide has thus seen an increase, going from 48% to 50% for apartments with a balcony or terrace, and from 58% to 70% for villas with a pool.
In this trend, the cheapest rents for unfurnished apartments are found in the cities of Khouribga, Azrou and Oujda. Conversely, the most expensive rents are still in Bouskoura, Rabat and Casablanca.
