Morocco Relaunches Investment Fund for Expatriates, Aims to Boost Diaspora Engagement

The relaunch of the Investment Fund dedicated to Moroccans living abroad is now a reality, according to the words of Nezha El Ouafi, Delegate Minister in charge of Moroccans residing abroad.
After a long period of suspension, the Investment Fund for Moroccans living abroad is now operational. To this end, El Ouafi, the supervising Minister, during a presentation of the sectoral budget of her department for the year 2020, recalled the program planned as part of this relaunch.
According to her, the Interprofessional Group of Bankers will be mobilized for this purpose in order to raise awareness among national and international banks of the importance of this Investment Fund.
The Minister pointed out that the strategy is based on a number of points, including strengthening the database on skills, setting up a computer monitoring system and launching a communication campaign with Moroccan skills during various national and international events.
To succeed in this challenge, the ministry is working in collaboration with the national institutions concerned to put in place an annual action plan at the level of each embassy in order to preserve the attractiveness of Morocco’s economic offer, to involve Moroccans of the world in development and to integrate their skills in the fields of scientific research and training.
The Minister did not fail to emphasize the development of support programs for associations of Moroccans residing abroad in order to provide the necessary assistance to this category of citizens to promote their own projects.
