Morocco to Reinstate Compulsory Military Service in 2022, Expanding Training Centers

The Delegate Minister in charge of the National Defense Administration, Abdellatif Loudiyi, confirmed the organization of compulsory military service next year.
"Compulsory military service, suspended due to the pandemic, will be reinstated in Morocco in 2022," Loudiyi said during the defense of his budget in parliament.
To this end, the official details, "four new training centers have been set up to accommodate 20,000 new recruits, in addition to four centers dedicated to the reception of the former regiment, as well as several units in the South region that will be prepared and equipped during the specialization phase."
The enrollment of this 37th regiment will be ensured by the Ministry of the Interior, he specified.
