Morocco Refutes Claims of Vaccine-Related Deaths, Health Officials Confirm

The information circulating, claiming deaths related to Covid-19 vaccines in Morocco are false. No deaths have been recorded, say health authorities.

The expanded scientific committee has stepped up to reassure Moroccans against the disinformation campaign being carried out on social networks. During the information session held on Friday, the committee members denied the rumors circulating about the vaccines.

In this regard, the director of the Moroccan Anti-Poison and Pharmacovigilance Center (CAPM), Rachida Slimani Ben Cheikh, pointed out that the Kingdom is one of the few countries with pharmacovigilance systems, allowing it to be aware of the progress that occurs in this area, adding that no death related to vaccines has been recorded concerning the reported cases.

"We proceeded to the autopsy of the bodies of three deceased persons. The results of these autopsies, carried out by a forensic doctor, showed that the cause of death is other than the injection of the vaccine," the official specified.

And to add: "Advanced age, chronic diseases and other pathologies are among the indicators that have been taken into account and which have revealed, in most cases, that death is due to a cause other than that related to the vaccine".

For his part, Moulay Taher Alaoui, president of the Scientific Committee in charge of the national anti-Covid 19 vaccination strategy, warned against persistent rumors and untruths about vaccines and their side effects.
