Morocco Receives 2 Million COVID Vaccine Doses, Targets Youth Vaccination

Pfizer/BioNTech and Sinopharm delivered nearly two million doses of their Covid-19 vaccines to Morocco on Saturday. Time for the ministries concerned to ensure logistics, the vaccination operation should accelerate and concern the youngest, including students.
It is one million doses of the Chinese Sinopharm vaccine and just over 950,000 of Pfizer that Morocco has just received. The Pfizer vaccine doses are reserved for 12-17 year olds, because, explains Dr. Moulay Said Afif, member of the Scientific and Technical Vaccination Committee against Covid, scientific studies on the American-German vaccine are available, unlike the Chinese vaccine whose study results on the youngest are still awaited.
According to Dr. Afif, "the starting signal - for the vaccination of this category - will be given in the coming days". Just time to manage the logistics aspect in the hands of the Ministries of the Interior, Health and Education.
The youngest, "who also end up in intensive care" will also be taken into account, and their vaccination "will make it possible to achieve collective immunity and above all to ensure a return under the best conditions", stressed the scientist, according to whom, the country has sufficient human resources and technical means to succeed in this vaccination campaign.
As of Saturday, August 21, 17,261,839 people have already received the vaccine in Morocco and 12,874,716 have already received their second dose.
