Morocco Receives First 2 Million AstraZeneca COVID-19 Vaccine Doses from India

The Royal Air Maroc Dreamliner, dispatched to India to transport the first doses of the AstraZeneca Covidshield vaccine, has landed at Casablanca airport. It carries on board the two million doses authorized by the Indian authorities to launch the vaccination campaign in Morocco.
These first doses constitute an initial stock of 25 million doses ordered by the government. Their reception should launch the vaccination campaign that had sparked so much controversy. Unloading operations have started and a special convoy should transport the first doses, under heavy guard, to their storage location in Casablanca.
According to sources close to the Ministry of Health, the campaign should start within the next week. The first people concerned by this campaign are health personnel, law enforcement and the elderly.
