The Dreamliner from the Royal Air Maroc (RAM) fleet has ensured the transport of the second shipment of the Sinopharm vaccine. In total, 500,000 additional doses have been shipped from China to Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca, reports Le360. This new shipment represents the second batch of the Chinese vaccine received in Morocco.
On January 27, Morocco had received the first batch, i.e. 500,000 doses. The kingdom has ordered 45 million doses from the Chinese laboratory Sinopharm.
To date, Morocco has received 7 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines, which represents more than 10% of the total order placed with Sinopharm (45 million doses) and AstraZeneca (20 million doses). As of February 15, 1.7 million people have already been vaccinated. This new delivery will give a boost to the ongoing vaccination campaign.
