Morocco Recalls Diplomats from UAE amid Growing Diplomatic Tensions

A cold wind seems to be blowing on Moroccan-Emirati relations. This tension was confirmed by Morocco’s recent recall of its diplomatic representatives from the United Arab Emirates.
According to Maroc Intelligence, the decision concerns both the kingdom’s ambassador to the Gulf country and the two honorary consuls in the principalities of Abu Dhabi and Dubai, as well as senior consular officials.
The Emirates would have deliberately failed to appoint a new ambassador to Rabat, since the recall last year of its former diplomatic representative.
A way for the Gulf emirs, adds Maroc Intelligence, to put pressure on Rabat, which had refused to yield to their instructions and to conform to certain resolutions related to international issues.
