Morocco Ranks Among Top Retirement Destinations for French Seniors, Study Finds

Morocco is among the best countries in the world where the French can enjoy a good retirement. This is revealed by the ranking of a newspaper.
In 2023, Morocco was chosen among the 21 most popular destinations for French retirees, outpacing several European countries, in the ranking carried out by Le Figaro in its 2024 rankings. These are countries with good living conditions, including security, quality of life, health system, leisure, cost of living, confidence, joie de vivre and attractiveness. These are part of the 28 criteria defined by the newspaper.
The selection of the 21 countries goes through an initial sorting. Le Figaro selected those that met the following criteria: at least 1,000 retirees living on site as of December 31, 2023 according to the figures of the Caisse nationale d’assurance vieillesse, at least one million inhabitants and at least one green zone (normal vigilance) larger than a city in the country according to the security map of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, then thoroughly examined the chosen countries according to the 28 criteria.
