Morocco Quietly Takes Delivery of Undisclosed Airbus Military Transport Plane
The first Airbus C295W for the Royal Moroccan Air Force arrived in Kénitra from Seville on Tuesday, September 29. The tactical transport aircraft bolsters the capacity to move troops, deliver equipment and carry out medical evacuations.
The aircraft bears the registration CN-AMT. The specialist register Skyliner records its delivery on September 29, on the route between Seville and Kénitra. It was previously registered under the Spanish test number EC-253.

Its arrival comes more than four months after its first public appearance. Photographer Santiago Blánquez photographed it in Seville on May 12, already in Moroccan colors. The image documented the acquisition of the new aircraft before it was ferried to the kingdom.
The C295 is designed to transport troops and cargo. According to Airbus, it can carry up to 70 military personnel. The manufacturer describes it as a complement to heavy transport aircraft and helicopters.
Short, unimproved runways
One of its strengths is the range of terrain it can serve. The C295 can take off and land on short runways, including dirt, sand or grass strips. This capability makes it easier to deliver equipment to isolated areas with limited infrastructure.
The W version is distinguished in particular by winglets at the wingtips. Airbus says they improve takeoff performance on hot, high-altitude airfields while reducing fuel consumption by 3 to 6%.

The cabin can also be configured to carry patients. Airbus offers a medical evacuation layout with space for 24 stretchers and seven medical attendants. The specific equipment selected for the Moroccan aircraft has yet to be confirmed.
