Morocco’s Princess Lalla Salma Makes Surprise Public Appearance in Tangier

Princess Lalla Salma, accompanied by her friends, was spotted on Saturday morning in Tangier. She had lunch in one of the restaurants in the old town, reports the online newspaper Al3omk. This visit is a real surprise for the residents and visitors of the city who gave her a warm welcome. Last August, the princess had also surprised the public by going to a large clothing and home accessories store in Tangier.

Since her separation from King Mohammed VI in 2017, never officially confirmed, Princess Lalla Salma’s public appearances have become rare. In September 2019, the Moroccan website Goud published photos of the princess accompanied by her two children: Prince Moulay El Hassan and Princess Lalla Khadija, in the streets of New York. A few days later, Lalla Salma visited the Mohammed VI Museum in Rabat, on the occasion of the exhibition "Treasures of Islam in Africa: from Timbuktu to Zanzibar", organized by the Arab World Institute.
