The princess circulated in the souks and alleys, stopping at several shops to greet the merchants and artisan women.

This is a new trip by the princess to the city. She had already visited Fez recently in the company of her daughter, Princess Lalla Khadija. During this previous visit, they had visited several historic sites, including the Batha Museum, the Dar Mekki Palace, and the Al Quaraouiyine Mosque.
