Former Moroccan Princess Lalla Salma Makes Rare Public Appearance in Tangier

Since her divorce from Mohammed VI in 2017, Lalla Salma has made rare appearances on the public scene. The former wife of the king was recently seen in a store in Tangier.
Princess Lalla Salma was recently spotted in a large clothing and home accessories store, reports Vanitatis. According to the Moroccan weekly "Assahifa", the ex-wife of Mohammed VI was in Morocco in May for the celebration of her 44th birthday. A party would have been organized in her honor in a property in Rabat belonging to the royal family, where she is said to usually reside with her daughter, Princess Khadija.
Lalla Salma married King Mohammed VI in 2002. A young redhead with long hair, she did not wear a veil and attracted looks and attention with her elegant outfits, writes the same source. She was the first wife of a Moroccan sovereign to be granted a royal title and to be presented to the public and the media. But in 2017, she separated from the monarch and disappeared from the radar. It was not until two years later, in October 2019, that the Moroccan digital newspaper "Goud" published photos of her with her two children in New York.
A few days later, Lalla Salma was seen at the Mohammed VI Museum in Rabat, on the occasion of the exhibition "Treasures of Islam in Africa: from Timbuktu to Zanzibar", organized by the Arab World Institute. It was her first public appearance since her divorce. With the onset of the Covid-19 health crisis, the princess’s appearances have become very rare.
