Morocco postpones exams due to the CAN final!

The Ministry of National Education announced, this Friday, January 16, the postponement of the local unified exam as well as the continuous assessments for the primary and secondary college cycles. Initially scheduled for Monday, January 19, these evaluations are rescheduled for January 20 and 21, 2026.

This decision concerns all the exams of the first semester of the 2025-2026 school year. The ministry justifies this adjustment of the calendar by the holding of the final of the Africa Cup of Nations (CAN) this Sunday, January 18 in Rabat. The supervisory authority emphasizes the importance of this sporting event for students and their families, requiring an arrangement to ensure the smooth running of the exams.

The 24-hour delay makes it possible to avoid the coincidence between the return to calm after the competition and the resumption of national and local exams. Schools have been informed of this change in order to reorganize the logistics of the rooms and the summoning of supervisors for the new dates of January 20 and 21.

This exceptional postponement applies to the entire national territory for the levels of education concerned. The rest of the school calendar for the second semester remains, for the time being, unchanged.
