Morocco Plans to Produce IRIFI Long-Range Strike System With a Claimed 2,000-Kilometer Range
Morocco and Harmattan AI Morocco have signed a letter of intent to acquire, develop and produce the IRIFI system in the kingdom. The French manufacturer claims it has a maximum range of 2,000 kilometers and can carry out missions autonomously after human authorization.

The IRIFI program is becoming part of the military partnership between Morocco and Harmattan AI. A letter of intent was signed on October 7, at the opening of the Marrakech Air Show, by the National Defense Administration and the French company’s Moroccan subsidiary. It covers the acquisition, development and local production of this long-range strike system.

Unveiled by Harmattan AI on October 6, IRIFI is designed to reach targets far from the front line. The manufacturer claims a range of up to 2,000 kilometers. It describes the system as a means of striking deep into enemy territory, including depots, military facilities and logistics centers.
The mission begins with a human decision. Command approves the target, launch positions and flight parameters. A second authorization is given at launch. Once launched, the system is to carry out the mission autonomously, within the limits set in advance, Harmattan AI explains.
The company plans to enable a single commander to oversee several coordinated missions. Artificial intelligence tools are intended to help process the satellite imagery used for planning, while engagement decisions remain under human authority.
Continuing the mission despite jamming
Over long distances, communications and satellite positioning can be disrupted. Harmattan AI says it has equipped IRIFI with onboard navigation that operates independently of GNSS, the group of satellite navigation systems that includes GPS. Sensors and onboard processing capabilities are intended to allow it to continue its route.
For the final approach, the manufacturer describes visual guidance toward the designated target. It claims meter-level accuracy in its presentation announcement.

IRIFI builds on Harmattan AI’s Moroccan industrial project, already underway in the field of autonomous defense systems. The letter of intent adds long-range strike capabilities to the activities planned in the kingdom. The launchers are to be connected to Kalahari, the group’s command architecture, designed to coordinate mission preparation and launch.
The technical specifications describe a single-use aircraft powered by a combustion engine. It is to be launched from a container mounted on a mobile platform, allowing launch points to be dispersed.
