Harmattan AI chooses Rabat to industrialize its military drones for Africa and the Middle East

The company is recruiting a vice president in charge of production in Morocco. According to this offer published by Harmattan AI, the executive will be based in Rabat and oversee the establishment and subsequent expansion of the group’s industrial capabilities throughout the Africa–Middle East region.

His mission will be to build a production ecosystem combining Harmattan AI’s internal operations with regional industrial partners and suppliers. In particular, he will have to organize manufacturing, planning, inventories and logistics, while controlling costs, quality and delivery times.

The position above all confirms the transition to a new stage. Following the agreement concluded in June with the Royal Armed Forces to manufacture autonomous defense systems in Morocco, Harmattan AI is now preparing their production on a larger scale.

The future executive will have to ensure the transition between the prototypes developed by the engineers and their serial production. He will work directly with the research and development teams to adapt new systems to industrial constraints and enable a rapid increase in volumes.

A complete industrial chain managed from Rabat

Harmattan AI also plans to recruit and lead a regional industrial team. The activities will have to comply with the quality standards specific to the aeronautics and defense sectors, including AS9100 certification, and rely on a supply chain capable of withstanding logistical tensions.

Morocco will therefore not host only a unit intended for FAR orders. The facility being built in Rabat is intended to support Harmattan AI’s sales and future programs with its customers in Africa and the Middle East.

This organization complements the engineering center already established in the capital. A previous offer had revealed the local development of a new fixed-wing military drone that will be tested in Morocco. The Moroccan teams must now cover a large part of the industrial cycle: design, testing, adaptation for manufacturing, production and delivery.

The creation of a production division in Rabat shows that its Moroccan presence now goes beyond the military partnership announced in June. Morocco is becoming the hub from which Harmattan AI intends to organize its industrial development across two strategic regions.
