Morocco-Paraguay Match Concludes Peacefully Amid Heightened Security in Seville

The friendly match between Morocco and Paraguay, announced under high security, took place without major incidents at the Benito Villamarin stadium in Seville. The security system put in place was effective and the atmosphere was present in the stands.
After the incidents caused last Friday on the field of Espanyol in Barcelona by Moroccan supporters at the end of the Morocco-Chile match, the Spanish police took its responsibilities and strengthened the security system for the Morocco-Paraguay match (0-0) played on Tuesday at the Benito Villamarin stadium of Betis in Seville.
With the system put in place by the police, the match took place without incident. The spectators, estimated at 12,000, entered the enclosure calmly and a very good atmosphere was noted in the stands, both from the Moroccan and Paraguayan supporters who attended a very beautiful match despite the score remaining blank until the final whistle.
Morocco and Paraguay missed many goal opportunities. As early as the third minute, Morocco announced the colors with Ounahi who missed an opportunity to give the advantage to the Atlas Lions. A few minutes later, it was MMaee’s turn to lose his duel with a Paraguayan defender. In the 25th minute, Yassine Bounou saved the Moroccan goals from an Enciso shot.
The second half was largely dominated by the Moroccan team, which however failed to materialize its actions. Mmaee and Boufal missed a good opportunity to score and Bounou saved his camp several times. At the end of the match, the public left the Benito Villamarin calmly.
