Morocco Coach Regragui Reflects on Tough Paraguay Draw, Eyes World Cup Preparations

After the draw against Paraguay on Tuesday in Seville, the Moroccan national team coach, Walid Regragui, acknowledged that the match was "difficult", but it will have allowed him to have "certainties" and to "draw several lessons" before the World Cup in Qatar.
"We played a difficult and different match from the one we played last Friday in Barcelona against Chile... Unlike the match against Chile, today (Tuesday) we played an open match against a muscular team that required an additional effort from us. This match gave me certainties before the World Cup," Regragui said at the post-match press conference at the Benito Villamarin Stadium in Seville.
He added: "I drew several lessons from this match. Admittedly, in the first half, we lacked intensity and rhythm, but I appreciated the attitude of the players." The national coach said he observed an improvement in the team’s performance in the second half, praising the spirit of the Atlas Lions. "Now we need to work on the mental aspect. We still have to work hard to reach our best level before the World Cup," Regragui concluded.
For his part, Paraguay coach Guillermo Barros Schelotto felt that the match against Morocco was "very tight" and that his players had "faced a dangerous team with players playing in the best European championships." However, the match allowed him to assess the level of development of his team, he acknowledged.
