Morocco Overhauls Road Signs: New Decree Enhances Safety and Visibility

A decree on road signage was published in the official gazette on November 21, 2019. It aims to make certain modifications to Decree No. 2805.14 and adapt it to recent developments in the field.
The changes made are at several levels. These are changes in technical requirements, in the color of the signs which have gone from dark blue to black. The idea is to improve the contrast, especially at night, as is the case in several European countries, indicated the Map.
The decree also unveiled the nomenclature of regulatory road signals and promulgated the general instruction on road signage. These are provisions that now apply to all those authorized to install road signage on public roads, the Ministry of the Interior said.
This instruction consists of 8 parts dealing with the different types of road signage and is divided into 137 articles. It will be distributed to all road management officials, it is specified.
