Morocco Orders Inspection of Deteriorating Chefchaouen-Tétouan Highway

An inspection has just been ordered by the Ministry of Equipment and Transport following the deterioration observed on a section of the national road number 2 connecting the cities of Chefchaouen and Tétouan over a length of 55 km.
The road section between Dar Aqoba and Chefchaouen on National Road number 2 shows signs of deterioration, the minister said in a statement, specifying that the inspection will have to determine the responsibilities and submit its conclusions.
"The observations and conclusions of this expertise were the subject of a report which was presented by the Director General of the LPEE, during a meeting held on February 19, under the chairmanship of the minister," it is further stated, ensuring that this inspection will concern the design offices, laboratories, technical control offices, regional, provincial and central services of the ministry, as well as the company awarded the contract for the construction work. The LPEE being the Public Laboratory for Testing and Studies.
Sanctions could be taken at the end of this inspection.
