Morocco to Observe Crescent Moon for Eid Al Fitr on May 23

In Morocco, the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs announced on Friday, May 22, 2020 that the observation of the crescent moon announcing the beginning of the month of Shawwal will take place on Saturday, 29 Ramadan 1441 of the Hegira corresponding to May 23, 2020.
The judges and delegates of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs are invited to inform this department of the observation of the crescent moon or its non-observation by contacting the following telephone numbers: 0537.76.11.45; 0537.76.09.32; 0537.76.05.49 and 0537.76.89.54 or by fax at the number 0537.76.17.21, the ministry specifies.
The ministry has recalled in another press release that it is the only one authorized in Morocco to officially announce the date of the end of Ramadan and the announcement of Eid al-Fitr.
