Morocco’s National Team Roster Set for Shake-Up Ahead of Key Qualifiers

The coach of the Moroccan national football team, Walid Regragui, is about to unveil, next Thursday, the list of players selected for the next matches of the Atlas Lions. Changes are expected for these matches against Gabon and Lesotho, counting towards the qualifications for the 2025 CAN.
Several key players, absent during the last two matches against the Central African Republic, should make their return. Brahim Diaz (Real Madrid), Yahya Attiat-Allah (Al Ahly), Hakim Ziyech (Galatasaray) and Amir Richardson (Fiorentina) are expected to strengthen the squad.
In defense, Romain Saïss (Al Sadd), the emblematic captain of the Atlas Lions, could be recalled to reinforce a sector deemed fragile. His experience and leadership are valuable assets to guide a defense in search of stability. Walid Regragui is convinced of this.
Concerned to find the ideal pair of central defenders, the coach does not rule out reforming the Saïss-Aguerd duo, if they are in top form. The coach has tried various combinations in recent times (Abdelhamid, Abqar, Harkass) without finding the magic formula.
The objective is clear: to ensure two victories in these matches scheduled for November 12 and 15, and thus start the 2025 CAN with the determination to win the title.
